Evil Emil & King Kongo Cobras
Evil Emil & King Kongo Cobras [EE&KKC] is a swedish zydeco band, that’s been around since the late 90’s. Founded in the small town of Arvika, Värmland, the members are now scattered all over Sweden, getting together for gigs, recordings and occasional rehearsals. The bandmembers are well familiar with – and nourishes a great love to – zydeco music. They mention John Delafose, Boozoo Chavis and Cedric Watson as their main influences. With zydeco as a base, and a varity of musical backgrounds and preferences, EE&KKC has managed to create a rather unique sound and approach to the music. To see this band live is an extraordinary experience! Everywhere they play, the audience is struck by the hard swinging grooves, peculiar melodies and brutal singing. Even the most reluctant gradually surrender to the beat, and start moving their feet. There’s no chance to stand still when Emil leads his vipers to musical extacy.

The DownShifters
“The Downshifters” consists of the Bjerre brothers, who have a long history as players in the East Jutland music scene – among other things as half of the defunct blues quartet “The Cornfeds”, who were very active during the ’10s on both Danish and European blues scenes. They won the Danish Blues Challenge in 2016 and were nominated for a DMA award twice.
So the two-man trio “The DownShifters” has gone down a gear and plays acoustic blues and roots music in duo form. The instruments are resonator guitar, banjo, mouth harp, bass and foot drums. The repertoire consists of old, classic blues and roots – combined with original compositions. In 2022 “The Downshifters” were also nominated for a Danish Music Award Blues in the up-coming category “out of the blue”.
“The DownShifters” are characterized by great musicality, wit and a fine touch for the good melody as well as the soul of blues and roots music. A concert with this dynamic and highly capable duo is definitely worth the trip, and if you’ve been in the company of The DownShifters, you won’t leave one of their concerts in a bad mood.” Peter Widmer – Bluesnews.dk
Sune Bjerre – Guitars, banjo, vocals and mouth harp.
Kasper Bjerre – Bass, foot drums and choir.

Sahra da Silva
From the first stanza, the hairs stand up. The presence spills over the edge of the stage and the foot can’t help but stomp to rhythm.
Sahra da Silva’s talent in the soul and blues genres is felt immediately. One senses an old soul, who with musical authority and a soulful, powerful vocal, can rightly be called one of Denmark’s great female soul singers.
Copenhagen’s Sahra da Silva has been an established part of the Danish blues scene for more than a decade and has certainly made a name for herself as a solo artist. She released her debut album #blueswoman (2020), which features a mix of Sahra’s own songs as well as a few interpretations of old classics. Sahra da Silva has performed with a myriad of Danish soul and blues artists, including Mike Andersen and Thorbjørn Risager, opened for English soul singer Joss Stone and others.
She is currently releasing the single “Learn To Love Again” written by Sahra and produced by Laust “Krudtmejer” Nielsen.
One of Sahra da Silva’s great strengths is that she balances easily and effortlessly in the intersection between soul, jazz, blues and Americana, and she has been described by music critics as a pure “powerhouse”, due to the powerful voice and her committed stage performance. At the same time, she possesses a measured power and nuance that brings to mind Etta James.
Now Sahra da Silva is on the way with a brand new album to be released in the fall of 2023 as well as an EP to be released in the spring of 2023.
Backed by her genre-bending band and a style best described as Retro Soul, the soulful depths are experienced and with elements of both soul and blues, brought to full presence on stage.
