Pulled Panda

Old Time Mountain Music.
Pulled Panda is a relatively new duo consisting of Johannes Bordal and Matthias Klein, who play Old Time String Band Music on banjo, fiddle, and guitar. They are well on their way to establishing themselves on the Copenhagen music scene as a fresh and authentic voice within the genre. With their energetic live performances and skilled musical craftsmanship, they manage to capture the audience’s attention and create a warm, nostalgic atmosphere with their repertoire of traditional songs.

Slap, Pick and Slide

Meet the new trio Slap, Pick and Slide, consisting of the talented Anja Dandanell Demant, Emil Meinild, and Thea Damgaard – key figures behind projects such as A Circle of Friends. At FOXTAIL FESTIVAL, they present their captivating interpretations of treasures from Americana, Blues, and Country. With beautiful harmonies, impressive instrumental skills, and heartfelt interpretations, Slap, Pick and Slide bring new life to classic songs. Get ready for an intimate and moving concert experience that will enchant and excite. This is a musical encounter you don’t want to miss!

Freudian Slippers

Copenhagen’s underground bluegrass band, The Freudian Slippers, plays turf thrillers and foxtrot breakdown boogie woogie. Expect rowdy and devil-may-care bluegrass and Irish folk of the finest kind. Look forward to a lively performance from the band, featuring banjo, guitar, double bass, violin, mandolin, and drums! Whiskey-drenched, sweaty, intense music from the swamp and prairie. Don’t miss this concert if you’re into gritty and captivating country chaos.

Danny Lund & The Trigger Warnings

Step into a world of cinematic Country & Western with Danny Lund & The Trigger Warnings! With melancholic and cheerful lyrics combined with danceable music, they deliver top-shelf sleazy listening. Their discography includes three LPs, with a fourth on the way.

The press wrote:

– Jan Poulsen

“It’s not boring for a second.”
– Jonas Bach

“A delightful atmosphere of successful B-movies.”
– Erik Jensen

“There is no comparable band in the country, probably not in the entire world.”
– Knud Romer

Nohrland

Drawing inspiration from the folk and roots world, Nohrland offers a modern take on the bluegrass genre without compromising their Scandinavian roots. With lyrics about raw loneliness, tainted village memories, and unexpected love in a modern world, they convey their music through beautiful vocals and clear harmonies, supported by skilled musicians. A clear rising star on the Danish music scene, they are definitely a band to watch.

Buster Sledge

Buster Sledge is an acoustic chamber-quartet of four voices, fiddle, banjo, guitar and contrabass fronted by a Californian living in Norway and backed by three Norwegians of diverse musical backgrounds, all with a shared love for traditional American music. With a starting point in bluegrass, their music brings the melodic focus of American old-time fiddle music and the storytelling of old mountain-ballads and country songs together with elements from jazz, indie and jambands to create a contemporary expression of age-old traditions.

Darleens

The Danish country band from the early 1990s has released three albums, with the latest one coming out in 2003. The group was remarkable for its time, as it consisted entirely of women, which was unusual for a Danish Country & Western band at that time. They experienced great success in the early years and toured extensively around Denmark. In recent years, however, they have taken longer breaks, making it a unique opportunity to rediscover or revisit one of Danish music’s most unique ensembles.

The group’s songs are written by Margrethe “Maggie” Björklund, who, after her time with the Darleens, turned her attention to Nashville, where she worked as a session musician for several years. Over the years, she has collaborated with prominent names such as Jack White, Calexico, Mark Lanegan, and several others.

The Bumfuzzles

A shared love of 1950s rock’n’roll and rockabilly music brought together three expats and two native Danes to form the Bumfuzzles in Copenhagen, Denmark. We play a mix of well-known and obscure songs originally sung by primarily female singers of the 50ies as well as our own original songs with the authentic raw sound of rockabilly. We bring the party for your dancing shoes!

Trickbag

One of the world’s best blues bands is coming to Foxtail. With Tomi Leino on guitar, Steve “West” Weston on blues harp, and Tommy Moberg leading the way, expect nothing less than international class, and we promise this will be a party like no other.

With 30 years of experience, 8 albums, and numerous awards/nominations under their belt, Trickbag is in high demand, not only as headliners but also as one of the best backing bands for touring American artists in Europe. They performed at the prestigious Doheny Blues Festival in California in 2015 in front of 20,000 people. These guys are something special!

Trickbag’s charismatic frontman Tommy Moberg is a master at whipping the audience into a frenzy, supported by world-class musicians all around. This includes the British harmonica sensation Steve “West” Weston, whose tone is extraordinary and combines Chicago and West Coast styles, making him an absolute star in his field. Alongside Finnish guitarist Tomi Leino, who has built a worldwide reputation as one of the best blues guitarists of recent times, they have kept Trickbag at the top of their game for all 30 years. It is an extraordinary achievement, and we are incredibly excited to transform Foxtail Festival 2024 into a monster Juke Joint party.

Zirkus

Zirkus is a 19-member swing and dance orchestra as well as an artist collective. They have been active on the Danish music scene for nearly 12 years, taking the audience 100 years back in time with a mix of thundering swing music, cabaret, and intense storytelling. Their original and newly composed music is at the center, and Zirkus creates a wild party wherever they perform. We feel very privileged to present them at Foxtail Festival-24. We promise you won’t be able to stand still once they start playing. This will be an extraordinary experience.
